simple vanilla pound cake

This is one of the classic desserts. super yummy and easy and simple to make.


Preparation:45min

Serves:4 to 5

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoon
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups (4 sticks) butter, softened

1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

eggs

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar


Method:

Preheat oven to 350ยบ. Generously grease inside of fluted tube pan and coat with flour.
In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and beat until well combined. Add flour mixture and beat on low speed for 1 minute, scraping bottom and sides of bowl as needed. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 50-55 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in center of the cake comes out clean. Cool in pan on coIn small bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar and milk. Drizzle over cooled cake. Serve with berries, if desired. oling grid 15 minutes. Loosen sides of the cake and remove from pan; cool completely on a grid.
